Volleyball success

Congratulations to our boys and girls volleyball teams. Both teams defeated Catholic College Bendigo in last week’s Sandhurst Division competition, and have now qualified for the Loddon Mallee Region finals in Mildura on the 8th May. The girls won their match 3 – 0 (25 – 13, 25 – 13, 25 – 7) and the boys also won 3 – 0 (25 – 13, 25 – 12, 25 – 20).

Members of the girls team were Talitha Alexander, Maddy Betts, Caitlin Johns, Hannah Lewon, Taylor Mann, Lily Somerville, Loreena Vincent, Lisa Ung, and coach Monica Isip.

The boys were Dillon Gauci, Lachlan Hill, Tarran Kilcullen, Matthew McSwain, Lachlan Parkinson, Matt Poulter, Chris Roberts, Lachlan Tranter, Tom Wigney, Jordan Wanefalea, and coach Jimmy Shelton.

SSS State swimming finals

Congratulations to Kiara Verbeek, Summah McKnight, Jess Rennie, and Georgia Lowther who all performed extremely well at the SSV State Swimming Finals at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatics Centre today. This event brings together the best swimmers from schools throughout the state, and the competition is always of a very high standard. Kiara swam in two individual events – the 17yr 50m breaststroke, and the 12-20yr 400m freestyle. She then combined with Summah, Jess, and Georgia to compete in the 17yr 4x50m freestyle relay. Even though the girls finished out of the placings in their events, they swam competitively in each one. Great effort girls!!
