Never underestimate the power of love to turn life upside down.

Maddi McCluskey fell in love with the idea of being a teacher when she was in Grade 3. She has never wavered in her focus and comes to BSSC to teach English and Psychology after five years teaching at Euroa Secondary College.

After graduating from La Trobe Bendigo in 2016, Maddi’s first appointment was Bendigo South East college, where she taught for two years.

Her move to Euroa was all about building VCE and leadership experience which she gained as Year 11 and 12 Coordinator/Educational Leader.

First impressions of BSSC have been positive. Maddi says it might sound vague, but she loves the ‘welcoming vibe’ of the college.

“I’ve always believed that every student deserves a good education and I hope to inspire my students in big or small ways to love learning and to nurture their aspirations.

“When you’re a teacher you have the opportunity to influence students whose various pathways can be so diverse: from future engineers to nurses. From future carpenters to radiographers.”

Maddi’s move to Bendigo will allow her to be with her partner—there’s that love motivation again. When she’s not working, aside from spending time with her partner, she loves a good book and being with her wider family.

If you’re looking for a great read, Maddi highly recommends her favourite book: ‘Tuesdays With Morrie’ by Mitch Albom.

Welcome to BSSC Maddi!
