The information below is provided for the benefit of new and returning 2024 students and families and anyone with inquiries about enrolment for the new school year. Students and families were also provided with this information via Compass on December 20.

When is the college open?
The college will be closed from 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday 20 December and the general office will open again at 9.00 a.m. on Monday 22 January. The college phone line 5443 1222 will be open right through the holiday period and you can leave a message at any time. Messages are checked regularly during this time.

When will I receive information about arrangements for the start of 2024?
Information will be sent to family email addresses in the week commencing Monday 15 January or sent in hard copy to mail addresses where this has been requested. This will contain information about
• Student’s Advisors for 2024 and their Advisor room
• Ready to Learn interviews and how to book them
• First day of classes for 2024

If for some reason you do not receive the email by 22 January, please email enrolments@bssc.edu.au

What if I wasn’t able to attend the two-week Step Up program?
Students who were unable to attend the two-week Step Up program should make every attempt to complete all missed work before the commencement of the school year. Details of how to access all work can be found below. Support will be available in the college library on Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st January for any student who would like some help to get this work completed. More information about this will be sent out in January.

Accessing work from the two-week program:
• Login to Compass (can be accessed via BSSC Homepage – www.bssc.edu.au)
• Select one of your subjects via the ‘pencil’ menu at the top of screen
• Click on the Resources tab and select the ‘Step Up’ folder
• Review the contents in the ‘Step Up’ folder.

Are there any Summer School/Revision opportunities available in the holidays?
Students are able to register revision opportunities over the holidays. Some of these are free and where there is a cost this will be reimbursed by the college. Many of the opportunities can be found on our BSSC Revision page at: https://sites.google.com/bssc.edu.au/bsscrevision/home (please note that only students can access the site). During the holiday break, please register yourself and bring your receipt to the Finance Office at the start of the year for reimbursement.

When do I get my 2024 timetable?
2024 timetables will be available to view in Compass from mid January.

What are Ready to Learn interviews and when do they occur?
Ready to Learn interviews involve parents/carers and students in a 30-minute session with their Advisor to share important information for the 2024 school year. Ready to Learn interviews occur on

When do classes start in 2024?
Classes start on Thursday 1 February.

Where do I get booklist information?
All booklist enquiries should be directed to Education Plus in Kangaroo flat: https://edplus.com.au/ or phone: 5447 8588.
You may also join the “BSSC Second-hand books” group on Facebook, to source as many materials as possible second hand. Please ensure that you check for the correct edition.

What do I do if I can’t access Compass?
