BSSC Year 11 VET Automotive student, Zach Martin, undertook a week of Structured Workplace Learning with Deepcore Drilling. Provided with personalised PPE (personal protective equipment), he had many opportunities to apply his skills in various workplaces.
“It’s been awesome,” Zach says, “I’ve been doing a bit of everything, working on the rig and undertaking some maintenance on the light vehicles and other equipment.”
Zach also went out to Fosterville for a day to observe the surface rigs and general operations. He’s gained a thorough insight into a day in the life of a Drillers Offsider.
