A group of very lucky Music students had the opportunity to spend time with one of Australia’s finest guitarists this morning when Michael Dolce visited BSSC. Michael is in town to judge this evening’s BSSC Musician of the Year and took time out to offer tuition and life advice to students.
Michael’s session took students on a journey from his first guitar lesson as a six year old, to a career that has spanned 30 years and seen him play with some of the world’s best musicians… and become the house guitarist on The Voice.
His presentation covered a lot of ground including the importance of sight reading in his career, his journey to becoming a team player, his dogged persistence in attaining his musical dream, and the way students can harness their nervous energy to truly connect with an audience.
Michael will name the 2022 Musician of the Year at the Ulumbarra Foyer this evening. The show kicks off at 7:15pm and everyone is welcome.
