AFL PREMIER LEAGUE GRAND FINAL
Congratulations to the BSSC Lions following their heart-stopping win in this week’s SSV Premier League Grand Final. It was a closely fought contest all day against Catherine McAuley College, with the margin never more than three goals. In a low scoring first quarter, the Lions led by 7 points and were able to extend that lead to 12 points at half time. An even third quarter saw our boys go into the final quarter still with a 12-point lead. That lead extended to 18 points at one stage, before a spirited fight-back from CMC got them back within 3 points with a couple of minutes left on the clock. Our boys were able to hang on for a memorable victory. They now progress to the Herald Sun Shield semi-final against St Bernard’s College at RAMS Arena in Craigieburn on Wednesday 18 July.
