There has been plenty of reminiscing over the past couple of weeks, with past students revisiting the college and remembering their school years.
Former Bendigo High School students from the class of 1972-1977 toured the college with Principal Linda Lyons on Sunday as part of their 45-year reunion. They presented a plaque to the college in memory of past students from their year group who are no longer with us. It will be mounted in the Alexander wing after the refurbishment is completed.
On Wednesday former members of the college’s Old Gold Alumni committee got together at the National Hotel to share stories of both their time at the school and their children’s.
There was talk of the 60th anniversary of the Memorial Steps, with several members of the group having been among the first students to walk up the steps as part of the ANZAC ceremony in 1957. Three of those former students—Faye Frewin, Kaye Trimble, and Tony Conolan—will visit the college this Wednesday to climb the steps once more and mark the anniversary.
We’ll share many of the group’s stories on the Alumni News feed http://www.bssc.edu.au/news/category/alumni-news/ and on the Alumni Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/bsscalumni/ in the weeks ahead.
