BSSC Computing students got a taste of the industry yesterday when they visited Bendigo Bank and La Trobe University Bendigo as part of their annual ‘IT Bound Tour’. At Bendigo Bank the students toured several departments, viewed a presentation and completed an activity in generating design ideas and agile problem solving.
A visit to the La Trobe University Technology Innovation Lab was a highlight of the afternoon, followed by a workshop with Arduino where students created circuits to detect how close an object was to a sensor on the board, change the colour of an LED light on the board and emit a sound. The students wrote code to adjust the colour of the light and the frequency of the sound.
