Golf – SSV Regional Event

Congratulations to our team of golfers who competed in this week’s SSV Regional Event at the Bendigo Golf Club. The event was attended by over 40 students from schools around the district. Our team of Jarrett Miles, Jackson Guan, Braydan Torpey, Matthew Harris, and Mitch Kemp all performed well. Jarrett and Jackson both shot even par rounds to tie for first place in the Senior Boys competition, with Jarrett winning on a countback. This competition was a qualifying event for the SSV State Finals at Metropolitan Golf Club in May, and it’s highly likely that Jarrett and Jackson will both qualify.

Swimming – Loddon Mallee finals

Congratulations to Kiara Verbeek, Summah McKnight, Jess Rennie and Georgia Lowther who all medalled at today’s Loddon Mallee Region swimming finals in Swan Hill. Kiara won the 17-year 50-metre breaststroke and the 12-20-year 400-metre freestyle, was 2nd in the 16-20-year 100-mmetre freestyle, and 3rd in the 16-20-year 200-metre individual medley. Summah was 2nd in the 16-year 50-metre backstroke, 3rd in the 16-year 50-metre butterfly, and 4th in the 16-year 50-metre freestyle. Kiara and Summah combined with Jess and Georgia to win the 17-year 4 x 50-metre relay, and place 3rd in the medley relay. As a result of their success, all four girls have qualified for the SSV State swimming finals at MSAC on Wednesday 26 April.
