The Bendigo Senior Secondary College (BSSC) Girls Cricket team played in the School Sport Victoria State Quarter Final on 17th March at the Mercy Junortoun Sports Precinct (CMC). The team came up against SEDA Carlton who were a formidable side.
Players:
| Maddy Best | Addie Bollard | Tahli Gilchrist |
| Chloe Goodwin | Leah Hall | Jessie Terrill |
| Stephanie Mayes | Amy Jefferis | Kez Newton |
| Zoe Ross | Keira McQueen |
The Lionesses won the toss and elected to bat with the opening pair of Steph Mayes and Chloe Goodwin coming under some pace from the attack. The batters held strong throughout the 20 overs to lose 5 wickets for 55 runs.
The bowlers had a massive task on their hands with Addie Bollard, Zoe Ross and Maddie Best getting through 6 overs before the target was made. Zoe Ross made the highlight reel with a screamer of a catch in the outfield off the bowling of Addie Bollard.
The girls made the quarter final after wins in the Sandhurst division against Marst College Bendigo and in the Loddon Mallee Region against Mildura Senior College.
Thank you to Jacob DeAraugo for coaching the team and to Prue Winters for assisting on the day. A massive congratulations to the team for making the top 8 in the state!
