Nathan Broad, Ben Dunnicliff-Wells, Elijiah Eddy and Lloyd Vanderberg have made the Semi Finals of the School Sport Victoria (SSV) Senior Boys Tennis State Championships!

The team travelled down to the Glen Waverley Tennis Club on Monday 19th May to compete in the State Championships.

The first match was played against Horsham College which saw the Lions get the win (4 sets 19 games to 2 sets 16 games). The second match could not get any closer against Hume Anglican Grammar Kalkallo which was tied after the 6 sets (3 sets and 18 games each). The third and final round match was against Notre Dame College (5 sets 23 games to 1 set 11 games) in which the boys ensured they finished on top of their pool and booked a spot into the Semi Finals.

The Semi Finals was a tough, close contest against Balwyn High School. The boys lead at different stages throughout but just fell short with a final score of 2 sets, 17 games to 4 sets and 20 games.

A huge thank you to Lee McCullagh for coaching the team. The team were awarded the Spirit of the Sport Award for the Championships which is a new award to the SSV programs!

Congratulations to the Lions for their efforts both on and off the court, a great achievement to finish top 4 in the state!
