Former BSSC student, Dale Hardiman, is part of the ‘Designwork 01’ exhibition at Sophie Gannon Gallery in Richmond. The inaugural exhibition in an ongoing series dedicated to presenting the best contemporary Australian design.

Now based in Melbourne, Dale  is the co-founder of furniture and object brand Dowel Jones, representing and commissioning platform 1-OK CLUB and collaborative project Friends & Associates.

Dale’s practice simultaneously focuses on items of mass-production for Dowel Jones, and singular works under his own name that focus on more conceptual ideas. His theoretical enquiry into design explores the localisation of the production of objects and is manifested in his chosen materials and overall practice.

Dale is an active member of the design community and a lecturer in the Bachelor of Industrial Design course at RMIT University.

The Designwork 01 exhibition runs until 1 April 2017 at 2 Albert Street, Richmond.
