Charlie Davis-Tope would have had a special role in this year’s ANZAC ceremony, performing his song, ‘Buried for Australia’, inspired by studying the book Black Diggers in his English class.

Instead, he’s performing the song at home, sharing it here with the BSSC community.

“Growing up, I felt disconnected from the reality of the sacrifice the Australian Soldiers made,” Charlie says. “But hearing their stories and songs has made me realise they were real young people like us with real emotions.

“On Anzac Day I reflect on the qualities of leadership and the mistakes made in the past that cost thousands of lives. Our actions as leaders have deep ripples into the world around us and it should never be forgotten.”
