As a student, what did you want to do beyond Year 12? What are you doing now?

Hotel Management was what I wanted to do. I’ve been worked in the hotel industry for many years as Finance Lead for hotels. But currently I am the Finance Manager for two hospitals with Healthscope.

What do you love about the type of work/study you do now?

Challenging, rewarding and sense of achievement.

What is one of your most vivid memories of your time at the college?

Celebrating my 18th birthday with friends living in Forest Street student accommodation.

Was there a particular teacher or staff member who inspired you?

Pam Toose was my Accounting teacher and opened the door into the accounting world for me. If I hadn’t met Pam, I would not have been so interested in accounting and possibly not as successful in my career as I am now!

Were you involved with any extra-curricular activities at BSSC?

I represented the International students from BSSC at various events.

Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your 16-year-old self?

Get more involved with things outside of the classroom. While study is important, enjoying life is just as important.
