Year 12 VCE student Bentley Eddy, recently completed work experience with Energised Electrical Contracting, gaining firsthand experience in an industry he is keen to pursue after finishing school.
With the goal of becoming an electrician, the placement gave Bentley a valuable opportunity to experience what the early stages of an electrical apprenticeship can involve.
During the placement, Bentley completed tasks including assisting with solar panels and battery systems, light installations and general labouring duties. Working alongside qualified tradespeople also gave him an understanding of workplace expectations, safe work practices, and the importance of teamwork on the job.
This workplace learning experience allowed Bentley to explore his career interest in a practical setting and gain a clearer understanding of the electrical trade.
The experience has helped him build industry knowledge and practical skills as he considers his pathway from Year 12 into an electrical apprenticeship.
