Senior VCAL students gave back to the community today when they presented The OTIS Foundation – Breast Cancer Retreats with a $1000 donation—part of more than $3000 raised on VCAL Market Day.
Fundraising and Events Manager for OTIS, Mandy Mitchell, spoke to students about the origins of the organisation and the important work they do providing retreat accommodation, at no cost, to anyone dealing with the challenges of breast cancer.
“It costs around $75 a night to accommodate someone in an OTIS retreat,” she told students, “so your incredible donation will provide two weeks of much needed retreat for people with breast cancer.”
