Senior VCAL students’ commitment to volunteering and community work came to fruition today with students presenting a cheque for more than $1000 to Bendigo Foodshare.
Students in Nat Dusting’s PDWRS class have been volunteering for the organisation throughout the year and organised the donation of over 100 kilograms of food—approximately 200 meals.
Today’s donation was the result of VCAL Market Day, where more than $3000 was raised for local charities.
Annie from Bendigo Foodshare said the students had done an amazing job with their fundraising and volunteer work.
“We’ve loved having you come and work at Foodshare and we’re so grateful for your donation” she said. “If any of you are looking for further opportunities to build your resume and gain experience, we’d love to see you again.”
