Students from Victory College and Girton Grammar joined BSSC students in the Ulumbarra Theatre on Wednesday to explore the diversity of courses on offer from 16 Universities and Colleges.

“The presentations and stalls want to get students thinking about application procedures as well as giving an overview of what is on offer and encouraging them to attend open days,” explained Shioban, representing La Trobe University Bendigo.

Given the breadth of courses available—from music to metallurgy, from agriculture to 3-D animation— there really is something for everyone. And the benefits of post-secondary learning are not just personal. Although most students enjoy their time at college or uni, and usually pick up time-management, teamwork and organisational skills, the best outcome is the likelihood of employment. It increases from 61% to 80 – 90% if one has a tertiary qualification.
