More than 40 students attended today’s Student Leadership Training Day that included some inspiring guest speakers, intense planning and group work, and plenty of fun as well.
Student Leadership Coordinator, Matt Kellow described the day as a great success.
“We’ve got a larger group of students wanting to be involved in leadership in 2020 than we’ve seen in many years,” he said. “There’s been so much positive energy in the room today and already the students have displayed great team work.”
Youth Advocate and State Government Policy Advisor, Oliver Tripodi, gave BSSC’s young leaders great advice on decision-making and strategy-building, while David Buckfield from the City of Greater Bendigo led activities around teamwork and leadership.
An important part of Training Day is the forming of sub committees. This year the group has decided to focus on Student Experience, Communications, Events, and Inclusion.
The day ended with the voting in of the BSSC Student Leadership Executive for 2020. Congratulations to President – Dooley Every, Vice-President (Year12) – Charlie Davis-Tope, Vice-President (Year11) – Amelia Bailey, Secretary – Arneh Beije, and Treasurer – Cameron Lee.
