Are you struggling with the costs of education?  Need a laptop or tablet, but don’t have the funds?  If you have a Health Care or Pensioner concession card, you are 18 years or older, have some regular income from work and have a child at school or study yourself, Saver Plus can help.

Join Saver Plus and match your savings for education, dollar for dollar, up to $500.

Initiated by the Brotherhood of St Laurence and the ANZ bank in partnership with the Australian government, Saver Plus is Australia’s largest and longest running matched savings and financial education program.

Saver Plus participants are assigned a Saver Plus worker at their local community organisation and open an ANZ Progress Saver account at their local ANZ branch, into which they make regular deposits. They attend Money Minded workshops to build their financial management skills.

When participants reach their savings goal after 10 months, ANZ matches the amount, up to $500, for the purchase of the nominated educational item.

Educational expenditure can include:

  • school uniforms and text books
  • computers, laptops and tablets
  • excursions and camps
  • sports equipment, uniforms and lessons
  • music tuition and instrument hire.
