Year 11 student, Ben Hogan, was recently at Bendigo Airport for a week of Structured Workplace Learning.
Ben’s schedule for his placement included time with Bendigo Aircraft Maintenance, RMIT Flight School, assisting with flight service, and airport maintenance within the terminal, on the runway and airside.
Ben also spent some time with the Bendigo Flying Club and Qantaslink through Precision Aviation.
Ben wants to become a commercial airline pilot and is passionate about all things aviation.
“It’s been a really good week,” he said. “Being with the RMIT Flight School students has been so interesting. I definitely want to pursue this career”.
Ben was able to apply many skills while on Workplace Learning, such as communication, teamwork and self-management and has also gained knowledge about pathways into an aviation career.
