SOCCER GIRLS – SSV FINALS
The BSSC girls soccer team was extremely competitive at this week’s SSV Finals in Melbourne even though they were unable to secure a win in their three round-robin games. All games were closely contested, with our girls being defeated 2-0 by Wodonga SSC, 1-0 by Lakeview SC, and 2-0 against Thornbury HS. Reaching a state final is always a significant achievement and the girls should be very proud of their achievement. Well done to the team: Jade Moule, Al Pierce, Sharni Barker, Bri Hamblin, Bree Heiden, Jess Keating, Mollie Weston, Elli Veale, Bridgette Keath, Michaela Meharry, Maddy Amy, Poppy Blanch, Tara Archbold, and coach Paige Conder.
SOCCER BOYS – SSV FINALS
Our boys soccer team matched it with the best teams in the state at this week’s SSV Finals. Their first two games against Myrtleford P-12 and Strathmore SC both ended in 0-0 draws and the BSSC boys were unlucky not to have scored on several occasions. In their final game against Roxburgh College, BSSC were down 2-0 at half-time but scored early in the second half through Pah Der Ler. The boys continued to apply pressure to the opposition in the remaining 10 minutes but could not score an equaliser. Roxburgh eventually went on to win the state title.
Well done to all team members: Jack Bourke, Pah Dah, Eh Ler Tha, Cress Ndikumana, Bevan Tresize, Oscar Capp, Pa Naing, September, Aaron Cosgriff, Josh Brown, Pleh Eh, Curtis Baker, and coach Barnaby Seviour.
