BOYS CRICKET
Our boys cricket team went down in a closely fought contest against Catholic College Bendigo in the Sandhurst Division cricket competition yesterday. The bowlers contained Catholic College to 9 for 132 from their 20 overs, with Brae Shewell taking 3 for 25 (4 overs), and Dylan Klemm, Bailey Goodwin, Tallis Miles, and David Simpson all taking a wicket each. In reply, our boys were well on track needing 21 runs from the last four overs to secure a win. Some accurate bowling from the opposition in the final overs resulted in the BSSC team falling three runs short of victory. Tallis Miles (43), Brae Shewell (34), and Bailey Henderson (21) were the top scorers.
The BSSC Second XI also played yesterday, and narrowly went down to Girton in a game that was only decided in the second last over. BSSC made 2 for 139 from their 20 overs, with Jay McLeod top scoring with 56. Lachlan Dillon, Dylan Barber, and Dylan Lees all contributed 14.
SWIMMING
Good luck to our swimmers who will be competing at the Sandhurst Division swimming carnival at the Bendigo Aquatic Centre on Thursday 25 February.
TENNIS
Another training/selection trial will be held at lunchtime on Tuesday 23 February for students interested in representing BSSC in tennis. This will take place at the Bendigo Bank Tennis Complex in Nolan Street. Students are to meet outside the BSSC Sport office at 12:50 pm.
CRICKET (GIRLS)
There will be a meeting held at the beginning of lunchtime in the gym on Monday 22 February for any girls interested in representing BSSC in cricket. First match is scheduled for Tuesday 8 March.
