What a week it has been for our sporting teams! Well done to our state champions and second and third placed finalists in Netball and Soccer. We also wish all the teams in local and state Final competitions over this coming week every success.
Netball (boys) – SSV State Finals
Congratulations to our boys netball team on being crowned SSV State Champions. They went through the round-robin games undefeated and finished on top of their pool, setting up a semi-final clash against McKinnon SC. A comfortable 25-14 win put them into the final against Lavalla Catholic College. The boys saved their best netball for the final and ran away with a 19-4 win. Well done to Lachie Ratcliffe, Simon Dundas, Mitch Keuken, Tyler McLeod, Cal Draper, Donte Thomas, Sam Milne, Keo Payne, coach Kara Fox, assistant coaches Milly Wicks and Elley Lawton, and team manager Nicola McIvor.
Soccer (girls) – SSV State Finals
A great effort from our girls’ soccer team, finishing third in the SSV State Finals. The team started well, winning their first two round-robin games 3-1, and 4-1. Unfortunately, a defeat in their last game (2–1) prevented them from making the final. Well done to Jemimah Bish, Georgia Coverdale, Carnie Edlin, Charli Edlin, Grace Edlin, Brayah Fitzpatrick, Cait Green, Sam Green, Mikayla Kerr, Molly Mathisen, Aysha McCoy, Angie Pengson, Caitlin Tamblyn, and coaches Adam Dwyer and Kieran Forrest.
Soccer (boys) – SSV State Finals
Congratulations to our boys’ soccer team which finished runners-up in the SSV State Finals. The team had a great 5-1 win in their first game, followed by two 1-1 draws in the round-robin stage of the competition, and these results enabled them to finish on top of their pool and qualify for the final. They came up against a classy Maribyrnong Sports Academy team in the final, and eventually went down 3-0. Well done to team members Adam Dwyer, Kieran Forrest, Jacques Greenfield, Pleh Eh, Htee Moo, Bu Gay, Dan Maierhofler, Brodie McSweeney, Jesse Parker, Ben Shepherd, Kyle Smith, Beh Nay, Per Soe, Donte Thomas, Noah Tramm, and coach Barnaby Seviour.
