The BSSC boys cricket team narrowly lost to Catherine McAuley College in the final of the Sandhurst Division competition this week. In the earlier qualifying game against Marist College, BSSC made 119 off 15 overs, and then restricted Marist to 102. Nash Viney (35 off 25 balls), Noah Begg (30 off 20 balls), and Campbell Smith (23 off 12 balls) were the top scorers. Brodie Pearce bowled well and took 3 for 25 off his 3 overs.

In the final against CMC, our boys bowled first and restricted the opposition to 122 off their 20 overs. Tom Martin took 2 for 18 (4 overs), with Mitch Graham, Darcy Hunter, Ben Williams, and Noah Begg all picking up wickets. In the run chase, BSSC got off to a good start, but a steady stream of wickets towards the end eventually took its toll and we were bowled out for 113 in the last over. Noah Begg (23 off 18 balls), and Tom Campbell (21 off 18 balls) were the top scorers.

Great effort from team members Ben Williams (Capt.), Noah Begg, Tom Campbell, Bradman Constable, Mitch Graham, Darcy Hunter, Connor Lyon, Tom Martin, Brodie Pearce, Will Purcell, Campbell Smith, Nash Viney, Hudson Storey (scorer), and Duane Anderson (coach). The team is to be commended on the great spirit they displayed throughout the day.

The Bendigo Pioneers girls under 18 football squad was announced this week. Congratulations to BSSC students Jemma Finning, Emma Gilligan, Molly Pianta, Billie Reidy, Tara Slender, Annabel Strahan, and Rach Stubbings on being selected.

This can be done by searching for BSSC Sport on Facebook, or using the following link:
