LACROSSE – SSV SECONDARY SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS
The BSSC lacrosse team encountered some tough opposition at this week’s SSV Secondary Schools Championships in Melbourne. Despite being very inexperienced, they were highly competitive against all teams in the competition. They won one of their five round-robin games, but managed to score in every game. Their coach, Gino Iuliano from Bendigo Lacrosse Association, was extremely proud of the amount of improvement shown over the course of the day, and the hard-fought manner in which they approached every game. Fantastic effort from all team members – Taine Lang, Cameron Lee, Lauren Vodden, Charlie Davis-Tope, Kobe Henderson, Thomas Moore, Hayden Pagram, Jacob Brown, and Eddy Neame.
SWIMMING – FINA WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
BSSC student, Cameron Jordan, is currently in Budapest representing Australia in the World Junior Swimming Championships. Competing against the best in the world, he qualified 14th fastest in the 50m breaststroke, 24th in the 100m breaststroke, and 35th in the 200m breaststroke. Amazing achievement Cam!
CANOEING – BENDIGO ACADEMY OF SPORT
Are you interested in being part of the Bendigo Academy of Sport canoeing program in 2019 – 2020? The program offers elite weekly training, coaches, and athlete education components. There is also a strength and conditioning program at La Trobe University, and camps at Nagambie and Jan Juc.
The program takes place from October 2019 through to May 2020 at Lake Weeroona, Bendigo. The approximate cost is $600.
Bendigo Canoe Club have a ‘Come and Try’ Day on Saturday 5 October at 1:30pm at Lake Weeroona.
