ORIENTEERING – VICTORIAN SECONDARY SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS
Bendigo Senior Secondary College had four representatives at this week’s Victorian Secondary Schools Orienteering Championships. Competing against some of the best orienteers in the state, Caitlyn Steer (5th), Amber Holmberg (10th), Jemma Holmberg (11th), and Megan Bramley (13th) all performed very well in the event which was conducted in the You Yangs Regional Park.
Upcoming Sport
In the remaining weeks of this term, there are a few sporting events still to take place.
Our basketball boys will play an invitational tournament at Maribyrnong Sports Academy on Tuesday 18 June. The boys will be competing against other schools which have specialist basketball programs, so the level of competition is expected to be very high.
The boys and girls basketball teams will then compete on Friday 21 June in the local Sandhurst Division competition at the Bendigo Basketball Stadium. The boys will play against Catherine McAuley College and SEDA, whilst the girls will have just the one game against Catherine McAuley College. We hope that both teams can secure a win so that they progress to the Loddon Mallee Region finals in Echuca on Thursday 25 July (Week 2 of Term 3).
On Thursday 27 June, our netball boys will take on Castlemaine Secondary College in the Sandhurst Division competition. The game will be played in Castlemaine.
