Members of the BSSC Student Leadership Team (SLT) met with Federal Member for Bendigo, Lisa Chesters, this morning to discuss the impacts of COVID on schooling.
Ms Chesters reached out to the students, knowing that 2020 and 2021 have been really tough for senior secondary students.
“Students have had to navigate the challenges of disrupted learning, cancelled events and opportunities, isolation from their friends and teachers, and uncertainty about the future,” Ms Chesters said.
“I want to hear how they are feeling, what we can learn from the last 18 months, and what’s needed to support them as they think about their plans for 2022.”
SLT Vice President, Amber Chong, was grateful for the opportunity.
“It was a really constructive conversation,” she said.
SLT President, Amelia Bailey, agreed.
“It’s great to feel we are being heard,” she added.
