The Bendigo Senior Secondary College (BSSC) Lions competed in the School Sport Victoria (SSV) State Championships for Badminton in the Girls and Boys/Mixed competition.
The event was held on Tuesday 11th August at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC). The Senior Boys/Mixed and Girls team qualified for the State Championships by winning the Loddon Mallee Region (LMR) last term.
Eight teams competed in the State Championships with two sections of four teams playing a round robin prior to cross over semi finals and final.
The Senior Boys/Mixed team played against Melbourne HS, Thornbury HS and Brauer College. While not coming away with a win, the team played better as the day went on.
The Senior Girls played against MacRobertson Girls HS, Reservoir HS and Balmoral K-12 CC. The last match of the day was a great hit out with both country schools having great rallies.
Thank you to Scott Collier for coaching on the day.
