Year 12 Allied Health students, Chloe Wakeling and Lisa Murray, have had a great week completing work placement at St John of God Bendigo Hospital.

During her day on the Maternity ward, Chloe had the opportunity to work closely with the paediatrician.

“The paediatrician was an awesome teacher and explained each new born check in great detail, including why they do it,” Chloe said.

When BSSC Workplace Learning Coordinator, Madolyn Claney-Ranson, visited Lisa at the hospital during the week, the surgical nursing staff asked if they could keep her because she was doing such a wonderful job J

Both students have learnt how to make a hospital bed, and had the opportunity to talk to patients of diverse ages and backgrounds.

If you need to book in work placement or work experience for 2020, make sure you drop in to the Pathways Office and speak to Madolyn or Kerry. You can email for an appointment at claneyranson.madolyn@bssc.edu.au or weymouth.kerry@bssc.edu.au
