Tonight was a special evening as mentors, guests and families gathered together to reflect on the achievements of our wonderful NETschool learners.
The annual Recognition of Achievement ceremony was an opportunity to look back on 2023, as well as make some formal presentations.
Ulumbarra Theatre was filled with the beautiful voice of NETschool learner Jaki Irwin-Booth, performing ‘Voilà’ – accompanied by Christina Finch on the keyboard.
Former NETschool Mentors, Jim Cowie and Lauren Roberts, as well as Judy Kidd – who is retiring at the end of the year – were honoured for their commitment to the NETschool community, with some of their learners from past years giving heartfelt messages of appreciation.
There were several special awards presented tonight. Congratulations to Aya Cusick, who won the 2023 Youth Mentor Award, Lilijana Gahan, who won the Everest Award, to Phoebe Coomber and Ella Dowsey who won the Change-Maker Awards, and to Jaxson Daniels and Emilia Belleggia, who took home the two Achiever of the Year awards.
A huge thank you to our award sponsors: Maree Edwards – Member for West Bendigo, Anglicare Victoria’s Navigator Program, Wise Employment and Anglico Eagle’s Community Partnership Program.
Congratulations to all of the NETschool learners who achieved so much and worked so hard this year.
