It’s NETSchool’s night of nights… a chance to celebrate the amazing achievements of more than 100 learners who have overcome all manner of challenges to not only stay at school, but show great commitment to personal growth and their education.

At tonight’s Recognition of Achievement celebration, NETSchool learners were joined by their mentors, families and friends, BSSC staff and special guests including Federal Member for Bendigo, Lisa Chesters, and Member for Bendigo West, Maree Edwards — both great supporters of NETSchool.

NETSchool Coordinator, Daniel Gibbons, praised both the mentors and learners for their dedication and persistence.

“They (NETSchool mentors) create and environment for others to be successful,” he said. “To me, that’s the definition of true leadership.

“I’m so proud of all our learners… watching you all embrace your vulnerabilities and have the courage to put yourselves out there with your endeavours is something I truly admire.”

Member for Bendigo West, Maree Edwards, said it was fantastic to see so many proud students and parents.

“These students have overcome big personal challenges to complete their studies,” she said. “Without NETSchool and the dedicated mentors and staff they may not have stayed in school.”

While all the learners were recognised for their achievements throughout their NETSchool journey, several received special awards. Congratulations to:
Seth Gibson – Change-maker Award
Piper Mildwaters – Everest Award
Amber McConnell – Everest Award
Melissa Bruce – NETSchool Achiever of the Year
