What a great vibe the BSSC community enjoyed as we gathered in the Plaza for Market Day—the annual fundraiser organised and run by VM, VPC and VCE Foods students with participation from NETschool.
VPC EAL students actually practiced spruiking before the event and their efforts paid off as their sales table emptied.
The cooler weather ensured the delicious hot food was a hit—including the fairy floss.
Stalls sold everything from keyrings to earrings, lollies to hair clips, plants to tie-dyed T-shirts, and there were plenty of places to test your kinetic skills with quoits, pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey and games of sheer chance.
Jirrahlinga staff brought along Annie the 12-month-old wombat to meet a whole new fan club and their three lizards—a bearded dragon, blue-tongue and stumpy-tail—were also centre stage.
BSSC students did a great job handling the crowds of customers and the whole college community is grateful for the untiring efforts of the staff who supported them in their preparations for another wildly successful Market Day.
BSSC would publicly like to thank Purtill’s Nursery who donated punnets of flowers and vegies.
Funds raised from Market Day will be donated to local not-for-profits:
Jirrahlinga Dingo Conservation & Wildlife Education Centre
Sunshine Bendigo
Bendigo Foodshare
Bendigo Animal Relief Centre (BARC)
