This afternoon Business Management students took on the annual ‘tower’ challenge to practice vital management team skills such communication, delegation and interpersonal skills.
Amidst a whole lot of laughter some spectacular towers were constructed with the simple materials of newspaper and sticky tape, and the sole tool, a pair of scissors.
Despite the challenges of the ‘weather’ delivered by the air-conditioning, creative practice was on show as students worked together to construct free-standing towers in the hope their team’s would be recognised as the highest or the most imaginative structure.
And newspaper as a clothing option was happening concurrently in another class where students were able to see how effective—or not—certain business approaches can be.
From Laissez-faire to Autocratic, this overtly fun activity demonstrated the critical part human relationships play in making—or breaking—a business.
