Students and staff from all over Victoria joined BSSC at the Ulumbarra Theatre today, for the annual Central Victorian Indigenous Careers Expo.
Following a smoking ceremony on the front steps, students moved inside to meet stallholders from a range of organisations—representing a range of pathways and offering opportunities to appeal to everyone.
A Careers Inspiration Panel—made up of Lachlan, Tanika and Bec—spoke about their jobs and encouraged students to aim high.
“What you want to do with your life is self-determined by you,” says Bec. “You’re in charge of your life.”
A special performance by the crew from Indigenous Outreach Projects got the crowd moving, with their hip hop dance crew bringing fantastic energy to Ulumbarra.
