This week, BSSC celebrated Cultural Diversity Week in style with events that promoted this year’s theme, ‘Everyone Belongs’.

On Tuesday, EAL VCAL, International and Language students hosted a day of fun activities for Strathfieldsaye Primary School Students.

Wednesday saw a sharing of cultures in the Language Centre with students and staff enjoying food and music of many nations. On Thursday our Karen and Afhgan students cooked up a storm, serving a cultural feast in the Ulumbarra Plaza. Musical performances and Cane ball added to the excitement.

Cultural Diversity Week culminated in Harmony day celebrations on Friday. Harmony Day is the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination which the college celebrated on Friday rather than the official day of March 21.

“This is a great opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate the diverse nationalities, languages and cultures that make up the college community,” Principal Dale Pearce said.

There were information stalls, food to taste, games and activities, and a photo booth run by our Photography students.

What a week it’s been!
