After a long break, BSSC’s Competition Vehicles we will be back racing in September and November.
The students are currently developing a brand new fully electric vehicle and are putting the finishing touches to a hybrid pedal and electric vehicle.
These vehicles are designed to cruise at speeds of between 50 to 60km/h but have been clocked at 76km/h.
Students design and construct the vehicles as part of BSSC’s Product Design and Technology Competition Vehicles course, but also spend many hours out of class perfecting the builds and preparing for race days.
The team plans to expand its racing program in 2023 with events in Victoria and interstate.
Teacher, Daryl King, at the Trade Training Centre is the person to speak to if you would like to know more, or be part of the team.
We caught up with students this morning for a practice session at the Tom Flood Sports Centre.
