Members of the Student Leadership Team (SLT) continued their push to raise funds for the ‘Do It In a Dress’ campaign on the weekend when they collected rubbish along the Bendigo Creek in a bid to raise awareness for the millions of girls around the world denied an education.
The BSSC campaign has so far raised $2492… an incredible effort!!
SLT President, Amelia Bailey, said that cleaning up along the Bendigo Creek was a great way to do something positive for Bendigo and raise funds at the same time.
“I had a lot of great questions from people passing by about why I was wearing uniform on a Sunday,” she said. “It was great to have Ethan Davies and Annie Claxton join me as well.”
The students were amazed and disturbed by the sheer number of masks they found along the Bendigo Creek.
“It’s really important that we use the proper disposal techniques for our masks,” Amelia said, “so as not to entangle wildlife or further pollute our waterways.”
