Former BSSC student Mirren Strahan will perform at the prestigious Top Class Sounds concert this year. BSSC congratulates Mirren – one of only 13 students from across the state selected to perform at this year’s concert.

The Top Class Sounds concert is hosted by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority. It features the most outstanding original musical works composed by students undertaking VCE Music Performance, Music Investigation, and Music Style and Composition as part of Unit 3 and 4 Assessment tasks.

One of two Bendigo students selected to perform, Mirren will perform her original composition “Kotekan Fish” as part of Music Style and Composition. The concert is at Melba Hall, The University of Melbourne, at 1.30 pm Tuesday 23 February.

Mirren also studied Indonesian in Year 12 and her composition was inspired by the music she experienced in Java and some of the Indonesian islands.
