In the worst flu season for many years, the Department of Health and Human Services confirms that there is an increased rate of influenza reports throughout Victoria, and schools are also reporting higher rates of students affected by influenza.

What to do if you catch the flu:

  1. Students with cold or flu-like symptoms should stay at home until symptoms have passed. Limit contact with others & seek medical attention if you are concerned.
  2. If you become ill at school with these symptoms, your family may be contacted by school staff to arrange to collect you.
  3. Good general hygiene remains the best defence against infection.  Regularly wash your hands and cover your nose and mouth if sneezing and/or coughing.
