Dear Students and Parents/Carers

With this afternoon’s announcement of a state-wide lockdown the college has updated its remote learning advice for students. Please find this attached.

Included in the attachment is advice regarding the GAT for students doing a VCE Unit 3/4 subject. At this stage I expect the GAT to proceed as planned on Thursday of next week, August 12. Our parent teacher interviews planned for that day will also proceed as planned as they were already being conducted remotely. If any of these arrangements change I will let you know.

Remote classes will run as per the normal timetable and students must attend all classes via the Google Meets link provided. Teachers have had limited time to amend their plans for tomorrow’s classes and the focus will be on student wellbeing and ensuring students understand what work is ahead of them. Normal remote classes will occur in all subjects from Monday onwards.

We have a small group of students currently on an Alpine Camp and these students will shelter in place and return at the scheduled time tomorrow, and be available to be picked up around 6.00pm. A range of other activities planned for next week will be delayed or cancelled; teachers will provide details to students involved.

While we’ve become accustomed to these periods of remote learning it can still be challenging for everyone involved, including families. What we know from experience is that students can continue to learn and to be successful provided they are motivated and disciplined: attend all your remote classes, take study breaks but aim to get work done on time, eat well and maintain a good sleep routine. You can do this!

Please follow the advice in the attachment and contact the college if you need support.

Yours faithfully
