Hot study tips that worked for students who achieved a perfect 50 in one of their subjects are hot tips worth considering.

Abbie Correll, who received 50 in English Language, found completing practice questions from very early on—not just coming up to SACs or exams—really embedded information.

“Also, relate what you’re studying to real life,” she says. “In English Language, I did this by noticing the way language was used in the media or in general conversations. In Legal Studies I would look for legal cases that matched concepts being taught in class.”

Luca Beale who received 50 in Allied Health says, “My hot study tip is to really listen to your teachers in class. They know what they’re talking about—and study with your friends.”

Kasey Lindsay, also with 50 in Allied Health, agreed with Luca about listening really carefully to your teachers.

“Also use every resource—there are so many—such as videos, library resources, and make the most of your text books.”

Studying in groups was really helpful for Kasey too—and she enjoyed the added advantage of being able to study with her sister who was in the same class.

Ned Howie, with a 50 in Physics, says practice exams were incredibly helpful.

“During revision I completed 18 practice exams for Physics alone. This allowed me to build up a knowledge base of topics and question types that appear frequently which helped my confidence come exam day.”

Like other students, reviewing particularly tricky concepts with peers was important for Ned too.

“Staying up to date and fully understanding a topic before you move on and keeping an A3 summary sheet were all really helpful techniques.”
