Throughout the week, VCAL students are exploring some big questions surrounding migration—both chosen and forced—and turning their thoughts towards humanitarian action.
This morning students worked with Anthony from Red Cross Australia, exploring what they can do in their everyday lives to help other people.
There were some confronting moments, especially when asked to put themselves in the position of a family having to flee their home with little or no warning… what would they take? Who would they leave with? What would they be willing to give up to cross a border to safety?
The Community Conversations workshops offer a neutral and impartial space to ask questions, encourage conversations and foster empathy.
A huge thank you to Anthony for his inspiring workshop.
