Instrumentalists and a dancer from Haimen, Jiangsu, sister state of Victoria, performed in the Language Centre at BSSC on Monday and brought a fabulous cultural experience to all who attended.
The audience of students and staff, that gradually built to around 50, were delighted by these musicians,
experts on a range of instruments including a flute—a dizi; a lute—pipa; a two-stringed fiddle—an erhu; a harp—guzhen; a dulcimer—yangqin and percussion.
The female members of the orchestra were exquisitely-dressed in colourful, embroidered, traditional qipaw (chipow) dresses.
And, resplendent in red and gold, a dancer performed a traditional Mongolian dance.
