Bendigo Senior Secondary College congratulates its students on their outstanding VCE results in 2023.

Congratulations to BSSC Dux for 2023, Manon Maund, who scored an ATAR of 97.1.

“I was surprised,” she said. “My score was better than I thought.”

Manon intends to undertake further studies in music at the Victorian College of the Arts through the University of Melbourne.

“I got into VCA which is exciting because it’s a course I really wanted to get into.”

There was little separating the top three achievers this year, with Marta Conole scoring 97.0 and Innes Harrington 96.80.

“I was really happy with my score – I was a bit shocked,” said Marta. “I think it’s still settling in!”

Marta plans on taking a gap year and travelling to parts of Europe – and is particularly excited about meeting some relatives over there. She then plans to study a Bachelor of Arts at Melbourne University.

BSSC Principal, Dale Pearce, was proud not only of the students’ success, but also of the efforts of teaching staff at the college.

“We are pleased with the significant increase in results across the board,” he said. “It’s really fantastic to see these top results in a really broad range of subjects, particularly Humanities.”

“It’s a great achievement for our students and the teachers that work so hard with them.”

Congratulations to the Class of 2023. We wish you well as you head into the next stage of life, whether that be full or part-time work, further study or training.
