BSSC congratulates three of its current and former students whose creative work has featured in the 45th Eaglehawk Dahlia and Arts Festival which commenced on Wednesday.

Year 12 student, Grace Andrea, was announced as the recipient of the Flack Advisory Youth Scholarship for her passion towards visual arts. In choosing Grace for the award, the selection panel commented that “Over the past five years, Grace has become passionate about her chosen fields of Art and Philosophy and has enjoyed experimenting with various mediums including digital media, ceramics, installations, inks, water colour and artistic writing styles.”
A thoughtful and articulate student who dreams of studying a Doctorate of Fine Arts and Philosophy Grace has an excellent work ethic.  She is always willing to assist other class members who have difficulty completing or understanding concepts.  This is not the first Art award Grace has obtained in the Eaglehawk community, and the selection panel was particularly impressed by her outstanding scholarship application and interview.

In the Youth Film Competition Dane Knowles and Celeste Lloyd, both 2015 VCE Media students from BSSC, had films shown at the Opening of the Festival at the Star Cinema as part of the Festival Youth Film Competition. Danes’ film ‘A New Era’ is also currently being shown at ACMI until April 29 as part of the VCAA’s Top Screen 2016.
