Year 11 BSSC student, Atticus Edgley, is studying VET Engineering, VET Building & Construction and VET Community Services.
With plenty of career aspirations and pathway options, Atticus decided to undertake a week of Structured Workplace Learning at ASQ Garden Supplies in Eaglehawk.
Atticus was able to put into practice skills and competencies he has acquired through his VET subjects, as well as taking on a variety of other tasks.
He assisted customers in the Garden Centre and worked in the commercial and industrial areas of the business too. The staff were impressed with his friendly and positive attitude and appreciated his willingness to learn.
“It’s a great place to work in,” Atticus says. “There’s lots going on; I’ve been chatting to customers, looking after plants, bagging up mulch and generally keeping things tidy in the yard.
“I’m now an expert at raking up leaves!” he says with a smile.
