BSSC was abuzz with nervous excitement on Wednesday as new students arrived for their orientation to BSSC. They were joined by returning students on Thursday when the Year 11 and 12 classes of 2016 launched into their Step Up programs.

During their first assembly, students from Bendigo South East S.C. (BSE), the biggest group of new students, through to Madison from Craigieburn, and others from Ferntree Gully and Sacred Heart Seymour all expressed anxiety and nervousness at starting senior studies at BSSC.

However, Zac from BSE said, “I’m actually relieved to be here and to be getting started.” This sentiment was endorsed by fellow BSE student, Sarah-Jayne, who said she was excited and couldn’t wait to get started.

During the orientation day, new students received their timetable and had a scavenger hunt to orient them to the layout and key areas of the college. They also connected their electronic devices to the college network and participated in a study skills session.

Students who miss classes during Step Up week and notify the college of their absence or inability to attend will be sent a letter with instructions on how to access materials provided during Step-Up. You will need these in order to complete your preparatory work for 2016’s classes.

These materials will be made available on BSSC’s online portal – Compass.

Students who don’t notify the college of their absence will need to contact the college to make arrangements to access this material.

Make sure your course is finalised by Friday 4 December – the last of the course change days. BSSC’s booklist must be submitted by Friday 4 December to avoid the late processing fee. Visit: www.edplus.com.au and enter your student code to access the book list for your course.
