AFL PREMIER LEAGUE
Catherine McAuley College proved too strong for the BSSC Lions in this week’s AFL Premier League match. They established a three goal lead at ¼ time and were able to maintain that advantage for the remainder of the game, eventually winning 7.9.51 to 5.6.36. Our boys improved as the match went on and outscored their opponents after 1/4 time.

Our boys’ have finished second in their pool and qualified for the semi-finals, and will now face an away game on 20 June for a place in the Grand Final.
CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNERS MAKE STATE FINALS
The BSSC cross-country team competed in this week’s Loddon Mallee Region finals in St. Arnaud. Our girls’ 17-20yr team qualified for next term’s SSV State Finals by winning the team aggregate for their age group. Gabby Rusbridge (4th), Maddie Hooke (5th), Bridie Blake-Burrows (6th), Bridgette Keath (9th), and Alia Melgin-Hill (11th) all ran a great race and will now compete on 19 July in Bundoora.
In the boys’ 17-20yr age group, Harry Wright finished 13th, Campbell Ireland 21st, and Adam Knight 32nd. In the girls’ 16yr age group, Lydia Melgin-Hill ran well to finish mid-field in her event.
