SWIMMING – SSV STATE FINALS
BSSC had six representatives at this week’s SSV State Swimming Finals at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatics Centre. Cam Jordan had a very successful day, winning a gold medal in both his events – the 50m and 100m breaststroke. Kiara Verbeek also picked up a medal, winning silver in the 50m breaststroke. Alia Melgin-Hill placed fourth in the 50m backstroke and sixth in the 200m freestyle. Lydia Melgin-Hill also placed fourth in the 50m breaststroke. Our girls’ 4 x 50m freestyle relay team (Alia Melgin-Hill, Kiara Verbeek, Sarah McLennan, Georgia Lowther) finished seventh. Congratulations to all competitors. It is a very significant achievement to make the state finals.
LAWN BOWLS – LODDON MALLEE REGION FINALS
Our lawn bowls team competed in the Loddon Mallee Region finals in Swan Hill this week, hoping to qualify for the SSV State Finals. They had one win and one loss for the day and therefore missed out on qualifying for state finals. Great effort from our team – Jack Lake, Charlie Manning, and Mitch Hogan.
